Zyliss Soft Skin Peeler, 72-pack

Excellent product. Review is now updated.
It does exactly what it is supposed to do, and does it very, very well. You can take something like a very ripe mango or peach that is soft, and the peeler just removes the thinnest veneer of peel, and very little fruit. This is one of the things I like best. No waste! I use it frequently, and would replace it ASAP if anything happened to it. If you eat a lot of fruit, this will be invaluable to you.

Dec. 8, 2010. Well, it actually happened. I did misplace this peeler a month or so ago. (It fell in some mysterious black hole in my little kitchen). I am requesting a new one for Christmas, and I can't wait to get that new one. Just today I was attempting to peel some kiwis with my old Oxo peeler, something that I know would be simple with my Zyliss Soft Skin. The Oxo just would not grab the skin, and it took three times longer than it would have with my Zyliss. I recently recommended this peeler to my Aunt and Uncle. Currently they are maintaining 2 homes, and my Aunt...

Zyliss vs. Kuhn
I saw a glowing special review on my Kindle Amazon Daily a couple of days ago for the Kuhn Rikon Piranha Peeler, so I added it to my Amazon Wish List. Then, I happened to notice the Zyliss peelers (both regular and soft skin on one card for just a couple dollars more than one alone -- $9.99 for the two) at my local grocery store. The lady doing demonstration recipes that day recommended them, and I couldn't remember the name of the one I saw on the Kindle, so I bought the Zyliss, figuring I would check when I got home. I found that Amazon carries both brands, and the reviews here for the Zyliss seemed just as good as for the Kuhn.

I used the Zyliss Soft Skin peeler this morning on an overripe peach, and it did just fine, shaving off just the skin, even in areas that were turning brown and very soft.

It appears to me that the Zyliss and Kuhn are almost identical, except for the shape of the handle; the Zyliss appears somewhat larger, and more nicely shaped, I...

Works Great!
This thing will actually peel a bell pepper or a peach without tearing it up, its terrific! Roasted red peppers got a whole lot easier. I've had one for three years now, it gets a lot of use and is still like new.
